TOP South African designer Millicent Nkangane said local designers must have faith in themselves to break into the international market, where they can hold their own, since their designs hold much promise.
Speaking as the curtain came down in style on the second edition of the Matabeleland Fashion Week on Saturday, Nkangane expressed hope in Zimbabwean fashion designers, saying their work is promising.
“It has been a colourful ceremony and the designers’ works are promising. To be part of this fashion week is something honourable and an awesome thing for me,” she said.
Nkangane, the wife of accomplished Isidingo actor, Motlatse Mafatshe — who plays Sechaba in the popular soap opera — challenged the local designers to be diligent.
